I love Sundays. It’s the one day of the week that I allow myself to lie in bed for as long as I want. Darren, being the awesome husband that he is, woke up early and is downstairs making coffee. It’s an unspoken rule in our house – he (or she) who gets up first is responsible for making a french press.
As the scent of freshly ground coffee wafts into our bedroom, I decided it was time to get up and start my day. I was in Denver for work last week and on the flight back, I watched a cooking show with Jamie Oliver. He made what he referred to as Eggy Bread – which is, as far as I’m concerned, a very British way of saying french toast.
Ever since I saw that show, I’ve been planning to try the recipe out. And given Darren was nice enough to make me a fabulous cup of coffee, I’m rewarding him with this treat.
